Top 10: Katy's Favorite Amsterdam Shops

Amsterdam is a great shopping city. There are a million cute shops and they are everywhere. Sadly, because we still had so much traveling left to do and so little luggage space, my shopping was mostly of the window variety. Still, popping into random shops was one of my favorite things about Amsterdam. Here is my top 10 list of the best shops I just happened to stumble into.

Tony's Chocolonely Super Store | Oudebrugsteeg 15, 1012 JN
You're greeted with a wall of Tony's chocolate. Pull a lever and freshly cut pieces are dispensed just for you. We tried every variety before settling on something to buy. Their mission of producing slave-free chocolate is also worth supporting.

Universe on a T-Shirt | Nieuwe Leliestraat 6, 1015 SP
Here you will find fun designs printed locally on good quality t-shirts and sweatshirts. We grabbed one as a gift for a friend.

The Otherist | Leliegracht 6, 1015 DE
Handmade objects, jewelry, and other items you won't find anywhere else – this shop is like a cabinet of curiosities in the best way.

The Darling | Runstraat 4, 1016 GK
This shop specializes in handmade or handpicked clothing for women, featuring a bohemian-chic aesthetic.

Things I Like Things I Love | Eerste Constantijn Huygensstraat 25-27, 1054 BP
This store has a highly curated selection of women's clothing and cute housewares. They have several locations around the city.

The Maker Store | Hannie Dankbaarpassage 39, 1053 RT
If you're hoping to pick something up that was created by a local artist or designer, this is a good place to check out. I was especially taken with the strange work of Eat Mielies. It's also located in the same building as Foodhallen in case you get hungry.

BonBon Boutique | Rosmarijnsteeg 8, 1012 RP
This was the first shop I stopped in. I was attracted to the beautiful selection of jewelry, cards, and prints.

Wildernis | Bilderdijkstraat 165F, 1053 KP
If you're looking for a cute plant shop, this is it. They had a beautiful selection of house plants and plant related paraphernalia.

Kauf Dich Glücklich | Raadhuisstraat 40, 1016 DG
This shop had a great selection of both men's and women's clothes – and they prices during their summer sale were pretty reasonable.

Shop de Ville | Staalstraat 11, 1011 JK
This was a small souvenir shop, but with a more whimsical attitude. It was basically 50% above average souvenirs and 50% stuff in the shape of animals or stuff with animals on it. I was into it.
